Testing Principle

The technique used in this kit is a quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay method. In this method, a plate with a high affinity is coated with a specific anti-mouse IL-13 antibody. The wells of the plate are then filled with standards, test samples, and biotinylated detection antibodies. During the incubation period, IL-13 present in the samples binds with the solid-phase antibodies and the detection antibodies, forming immune complexes. After removing any unbound material through washing, horseradish peroxidase-labeled streptavidin (HRP) is introduced. Following another round of washing, a chromogenic substrate is added, causing the color to develop in the absence of light. To stop the reaction, a stop solution is added, and the absorbance is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference correction wavelength of either 540 nm or 570 nm).
