Description	This protein is a member of the CASP family and could potentially play a role in intra-Golgi retrograde transport. It forms homodimers through disulfide-linkages and has been shown to interact with GOLGA5.
Other names	CASP, also known as Cut Like Homeobox 1 (CUTL1) or CCAAT Displacement Protein (CDP), is a transcription factor that plays a role in regulating gene expression. It is encoded by the CUX1 gene and has several isoforms, including p110, p75, p200, and p100. CDP/Cut, another name for CASP, is a homolog of the Cut homeobox family of proteins, which are involved in controlling cell differentiation during development. It has been shown to be involved in the regulation of several cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and DNA repair. In addition to its role as a transcription factor, CASP has also been implicated in the regulation of Golgi membrane trafficking and protein glycosylation. It interacts with Golgi integral membrane protein 6 (GOLIM6), also known as COY1 or Clox, to control the localization of glycosyltransferase enzymes within the Golgi apparatus. Overall, CASP is a multifunctional protein that plays important roles in various cellular processes. Its dysregulation has been implicated in the development of several diseases, including cancer and developmental disorders.
