Immunogen

A fusion protein, composed of amino acids 120 to 400 of human LONP1 (NP_004784.2), has been successfully produced using recombinant technology. This protein bears a remarkable similarity to the original amino acid sequence, demonstrating the high efficiency of our protein synthesis methodology. With this achievement, we hope to contribute to the advancement of medical research and the development of novel therapeutic interventions. Our team is actively pursuing further studies on this protein to explore its potential clinical applications.

Stability & Storage

Store at -20℃. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.

Storage buffer

Store at -20℃. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.
The pH of the buffer is 7.3, and it contains 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. Additionally, it is prepared in PBS and stored with the inclusion of sodium azide to prevent microbial growth. The high glycerol concentration aids in preserving the stability of the solution.

Target

Background

The mitochondrial matrix protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Lon family of ATP-dependent proteases. It plays a key role in the mitochondrial matrix by selectively degrading misfolded, unassembled, or oxidatively damaged polypeptides. Additionally, it functions as a chaperone in assembling inner membrane protein complexes and contributes to the regulation of mitochondrial gene expression and the preservation of the integrity of the mitochondrial genome. In a patient with hereditary spastic paraplegia, a reduction in the expression of this gene has been observed (PMID:18378094). Various alternatively spliced transcript variants have also been identified for this gene.
