Overview

Description

Our E.coli expression system is used to produce Recombinant Human Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme E2 S. The target gene, which encodes Met1-Leu222, is expressed with a GST tag at the N-terminus.

Other names

S-Ubiquitin Conjugating Enzyme, E2-S, Ubiquitin Carrier Protein S, Ubiquitin Conjugating Enzyme E2-24 kDa, E2-EPF Ubiquitin Conjugating Enzyme, Ubiquitin-Protein Ligase S, UBE2S, E2EPF. These are all different names for the same protein, which is known in the scientific community for its crucial role in the process of ubiquitin conjugation.
Ubiquitin conjugation is a post-translational modification that regulates protein turnover and various cellular processes. The process involves the covalent attachment of ubiquitin to target proteins, marking them for degradation or modulating their activity and localization. This intricate process relies on the concerted action of several enzymes, including ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2s) like E2 S or E2EPF.
E2 S, also referred to as E2-EPF5, and E2-EPF, are isoforms of the same protein that have been identified in different organisms. These enzymes play a crucial role in transferring ubiquitin from an E1 enzyme to a target protein, forming an isopeptide bond between the C-terminal glycine residue of ubiquitin and the target protein's lysine residue.
Additionally, Ubiquitin Carrier Protein S is another term used for E2 S. It is worth mentioning that despite their similar functions, there may be some differences in the specificity and regulation of these isoforms.
Furthermore, there is a smaller isoform called Ubiquitin Conjugating Enzyme E2-24 kDa, which is also involved in the ubiquitin conjugation pathway. It has a molecular weight of 24 kDa and plays a role in the selective targeting of proteins for degradation.
In summary, E2 S, E2-EPF, Ubiquitin Carrier Protein S, E2-EPF5, Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme E2-24 kDa, Ubiquitin-Protein Ligase S, UBE2S, or E2EPF all refer to the same protein that plays a pivotal role in the ubiquitin conjugation pathway. Understanding the function and regulation of these enzymes is essential for unraveling the complex mechanisms governing protein turnover and cellular processes.

Concentration

The level of purity determined by SDS-PAGE reduction is above 95%. You can create a similar statement by rearranging the original information and ensuring that the meaning remains intact but presented in a different way.

Endotoxin_level

The LAL test has determined that the level of endotoxin in the sample is less than 0.1 ng/μg (1 IEU/μg). This indicates that the sample is of high quality and has a low risk of contamination from bacterial endotoxins. It is important to ensure that endotoxin levels are within acceptable limits to ensure the safety and efficacy of various pharmaceutical and biomedical products.

Target

Background

Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme E2 S (UBE2S) is a member of the Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme family. UBE2S interacts with CDC20, FZR1/CDH1 and VHL. UBE2S can form a thiol ester linkage with Ubiquitin in an Ubiquitin Activating Enzyme-Dependent manner, a characteristic property of Ubiquitin Carrier Proteins. UBE2S acts as an essential factor of the Anaphase Promoting Complex/Cyclosome, a cell cycle-regulated Ubiquitin ligase that controls progression through mitosis. UBE2S is also involved in ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of VHL, resulting in an accumulation of HIF1A.
