| Other names | Cardiac ankyrin repeat kinase (CARK), also known as TNNI3-interacting kinase or TNI3K, is a serine/threonine protein kinase found in cardiac muscle. It interacts with cardiac troponin I (cTnl) and is involved in the regulation of cardiac contraction. Mutations in the gene encoding for CARK have been implicated in several cardiac disorders, including familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (CMH7), familial dilated cardiomyopathy (CMD1FF and CMD2A), and familial restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM1). Other names for CARK include TNNI3 interacting kinase and troponin 1-interacting kinase. It is also known by its gene aliases of Tnni3k, MGC142099, MGC33828, and TNI3K_HUMAN. |
