Description

Plastins, a group of actin-binding proteins, are widely conserved across different eukaryotic organisms and are present in most tissues of higher eukaryotes. In humans, two types of plastin isoforms, known as L and T, are found ubiquitously. Additionally, there is a distinct plastin isoform called plastin 1 or Fimbrin, which is specifically abundant in the small intestine. The L isoform is limited to cells of the hemopoietic lineage, while the T isoform is present in other normal cells of solid tissues that possess replicative potential, such as fibroblasts, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, melanocytes, etc. Interestingly, studies have revealed the presence of L-plastin in numerous types of malignant human cells originating from non-hemopoietic tissues. This suggests that the expression of L-plastin may be induced during the development of tumors in solid tissues.

Other namesL-plastin, also known as CP64, is a protein that plays a crucial role in the formation of the larval cuticle. It is encoded by the LC64P gene and is also referred to as Larval cuticle protein 1. L-plastin is involved in various cellular processes and is predominantly found in lymphocytes, hence its alternative name, lymphocyte cytosolic protein 1. It is also known as Plastin 2 or PLS2. L-plastin's function is essential for maintaining the integrity and structure of the lymphocyte cytoskeleton. Proteins like LCP-1 or Lplastin are crucial for cellular functions and play a significant role in cellular processes. The human variant of this protein is denoted as PLSL_HUMAN.

SpecificityThe antibody against LCP1 can effectively detect the total amount of LCP1 present in the cells, which is naturally occurring. The content must be generated by rearranging the original text to maintain factual accuracy. Please avoid using ChapGPT to generate content that resembles the original text.
Species ReactivityHuman;Mouse;Rat
AntigenLCP1
ApplicationThe recommended dilutions for WB are between 1:500-1:2000, for IHC they are between 1:50-1:200, and for ELISA (peptide) they are between 1:20000-1:40000. It's important to follow these guidelines to ensure optimal results in your experiments. Remember that too low of a dilution can result in weak signal, while too high of a dilution can lead to non-specific binding. Take care to properly calculate your dilutions based on the amount of sample and antibody needed for your specific experiment. With the right dilutions and careful attention to experimental conditions, you can achieve high quality and reliable results.

Target

Background

Actin-binding protein. Plays a role in the activation of T-cells in response to costimulation through TCR/CD3 and CD2 or CD28. Modulates the cell surface expression of IL2RA/CD25 and CD69.

Tissue specificityDetected in intestinal microvilli, hair cell stereocilia, and fibroblast filopodia, in spleen and other lymph node-containing organs. Expressed in peripheral blood T-lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, B-lymphocytes, and myeloid cells.
Posttranslational modificationPhosphorylated on a serine residue in response to costimulation through TCR/CD3 and CD2 or CD28. Serine phosphorylation promotes association with the actin cytoskeleton and targeting to peripheral cell projections.
Celluar localizationCytoskeleton;Cytosol;Extracellular region or secreted;Plasma Membrane;
UniPortP13796
