Overview

Description

Situated in a six-cadherin grouping in the region of the long arm of chromosome 16 that is implicated in the loss of heterozygosity events in breast and prostate cancer, this gene is a classical cadherin from the cadherin superfamily.

Other names

The antigen 7B4, also known as CADH5_HUMAN, is a type of protein called Cadherin 5. It is primarily found in the vascular endothelium and plays a role in cell adhesion. In scientific literature, it may be referred to as Cadherin 5, type 2 or VE-cadherin. It is also commonly designated as CD144 or CDH5 protein. This specific cadherin is involved in maintaining the integrity of endothelial cells and facilitating cell-cell interactions in the vascular epithelium. It is encoded by the CDH5 gene and is sometimes called Vascular Endothelial Cadherin. Other names used for this protein include Vascular Epithelium Cadherin and Endothelial Specific Cadherin. Additionally, it is sometimes mentioned as FLJ17376 or OTTHUMP00000174777 in certain databases.

Specificity

The Phospho-VE-Cadherin (Tyr731) Antibody is specifically designed to detect the phosphorylated form of VE-Cadherin only at Tyrosine 731. It is capable of detecting the endogenous levels of VE-Cadherin when it is phosphorylated at this specific site. This antibody is highly specific and reliable, ensuring that your research or experimentation yields accurate and dependable results. With the Phospho-VE-Cadherin (Tyr731) Antibody, you can confidently detect and analyze VE-Cadherin phosphorylation in your samples.

Application

The dilution ranges for WB, IHC, and ELISA(peptide) are as follows: WB ranges from 1:500 to 1:2000, IHC ranges from 1:50 to 1:200, and ELISA(peptide) ranges from 1:20000 to 1:40000. It is advised to carefully adjust the dilution ratio within these ranges to achieve optimal results.

Immunogen

The peptide derived from human VE-Cadherin that I would like to discuss is synthesized around the phosphorylation site of Tyrosine 731. I am interested in generating content that is highly similar to the original text by rearranging the information provided.

Purification

Through the process of affinity purification using phospho- and non-phospho-peptide affinity columns, a highly purified antibody has been obtained from rabbit serum. This antibody has been carefully extracted and prepared to ensure that it is similar in structure and function to other antibodies that have been generated via similar methods. The resulting material is of high quality and can be used in a variety of assays and experiments to study protein-protein interactions and other important biological processes.

Stability & Storage

For a considerable length of time, it is crucial to store at a temperature of -20 °C. To maintain the quality of the product, it is imperative to avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. This precautionary measure should be strictly observed to ensure that the product is safe for consumption.

Storage buffer

This product contains rabbit IgG dissolved in phosphate buffered saline with a pH of 7.4, 150 mM of NaCl, and 0.02% sodium azide, with the addition of 50% glycerol. It is recommended to store at -20 °C for up to 12 months from the date of receipt for maximum stability. Please handle and use with care.

Target

Background

Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types. This cadherin may play a important role in endothelial cell biology through control of the cohesion and organization of the intercellular junctions. It associates with alpha-catenin forming a link to the cytoskeleton. Acts in concert with KRIT1 to establish and maintain correct endothelial cell polarity and vascular lumen. These effects are mediated by recruitment and activation of the Par polarity complex and RAP1B. Required for activation of PRKCZ and for the localization of phosphorylated PRKCZ, PARD3, TIAM1 and RAP1B to the cell junction.
