Immunogen | A fusion protein composed of a specific amino acid sequence within the human BMPR1A protein has been created through recombinant techniques. This sequence spans amino acids 24-200 of the NP_004320.2 protein sequence. Efforts have been made to ensure that the resulting fusion protein closely resembles the original protein in terms of structure and function. |
Properties | The samples provided for analysis include Jurkat, SGC-7901, TE-1, and 22Rv1 cell lines, as well as mouse heart, kidney, and lung tissues. It is important to note that all of these samples have distinct characteristics and properties that must be carefully considered when analyzing the data. For example, the Jurkat cell line is commonly used in cancer research due to its T-cell origin, while SGC-7901 is a gastric cancer cell line. TE-1, on the other hand, is an esophageal cancer cell line, and 22Rv1 is a prostate cancer cell line. As for the mouse tissues, the heart, kidney, and lung each have unique physiological functions that may influence the results of the analysis. Therefore, it is crucial to take into account the specific tissue or cell line being analyzed in order to obtain accurate and meaningful data. |

Background | The receptors for bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) belong to a family of transmembrane serine/threonine kinases. This family includes the type I BMPR1A and BMPR1B receptors, the type II BMPR2 receptor, as well as the related activin receptors ACVR1 and ACVR2. These receptors bind to ligands that are part of the TGF-beta superfamily. TGF-betas and activins signal through the formation of heteromeric complexes with two different kinds of serine/threonine kinase receptors: type I receptors that weigh around 50-55 kD and type II receptors that weigh around 70-80 kD. While the type II receptors can bind ligands without the presence of type I receptors, they do require type I receptors in order to signal. On the other hand, the type I receptors require type II receptors for ligand binding. |
