Other names	SYN 2, also known as Synapsin 2 or Synapsin II, exists in two isoforms called IIa and IIb. These isoforms, namely SYN IIa and SYN IIb, play important roles in synaptic function. They are involved in regulating neurotransmitter release and vesicle trafficking within the synapse. SYN IIa and SYN IIb are alternative splicing variants of the Synapsin 2 gene. Both isoforms, SYN IIa and SYN IIb, contribute to the modulation of neuronal communication. Understanding the functions and interactions of Synapsin 2 isoforms, such as SYN II, SYN2, or SynapsinII, offers valuable insights into the complex mechanisms of synaptic transmission.
