Other names	The La autoantigen, also known as Lupus La protein or Sjogren syndrome antigen B, is a ribonucleoprotein commonly associated with autoimmune disorders such as lupus and Sjogren's syndrome. It is encoded by the LARP3 gene in humans and plays a critical role in RNA metabolism, particularly in pre-tRNA processing. La protein binds to the 3' end of nascent RNA polymerase III transcripts and protects them from degradation. This is essential for proper maturation of tRNAs and other small non-coding RNAs. Target
