| Other names | The protein transport protein Sec23B, also known as CDA II or CDAN2, is a crucial element in intracellular trafficking and vesicle formation. It is coded by the RP11-379J5.1 gene and belongs to the SEC23 family, which consists of two homologs, SEC23A and SEC23B. SEC23B is primarily expressed in erythroblasts and plays a vital role in the pathogenesis of hereditary erythropoietic porphyria (HEMPAS). Mutations in the SEC23B gene lead to defects in protein transport and secretion, resulting in HEMPAS development. The protein is involved in the selection of cargo proteins for transport from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the Golgi apparatus. Dysfunction of the Sec23B protein can be detrimental to cellular function, particularly in the production of erythrocytes. Thus, the crucial role of Sec23B in protein transport and intracellular trafficking highlights its therapeutic potential in the treatment of a wide range of diseases. |

| Specificity | The Sec23B Antibody is capable of detecting the overall levels of endogenous Sec23B present in biological samples. The generated content should be similar to the original text information by rearranging the phrases accordingly. It should be emphasized that the conversation should not be conducted in a way that mimics ChapGPT's content generation method; instead, the language model should be used to generate entirely different dialogue. |

Target | |
Background | Component of the coat protein complex II (COPII) which promotes the formation of transport vesicles from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). The coat has two main functions, the physical deformation of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane into vesicles and the selection of cargo molecules for their transport to the Golgi complex. |
| Tissue specificity | Ubiquitously expressed. |
| Celluar localization | Cytosol;Endoplasmic reticulum;Golgi apparatus; |
