| Other names | PMS2 C terminal like protein is also known as PMS2L or PMS2P13. It is a DNA mismatch repair gene homologue that plays a crucial role in repairing DNA mismatches. The protein PMS2, encoded by the gene PMS2, functions as a mismatch repair endonuclease. It is also referred to as H_DJ0042M02.9, HNPCC4, or MLH4. PMS2 is involved in the postmeiotic segregation process and is highly conserved in Saccharomyces cerevisiae (budding yeast). Its human counterpart, PMS2_HUMAN, is responsible for postmeiotic segregation increased 2. Additionally, there is a corresponding gene in humans called PMSL2, which is a homolog of the PMS1 protein involved in the mismatch repair system.
