Description | ITCH, NEDD4, NEDD4L, SMURF2, WWP1, and WWP2 are E3 ubiquitin-protein ligases that contain the HECT domain and can be activated by it. These ligases play a crucial role in modulating the stability of their targets, thus controlling various cellular processes. One of the functions of this activation is recruiting ITCH, NEDD4, and SMURF2 to endosomal membranes. Another significant impact is the potential modulation of EGFR signaling. | Other names | Ndfip2, also known as NEDD4 family interacting protein 2 or NEDD4 WW domain binding protein 5A, is a putative MAPK activating protein PM04/PM05/PM06/PM07 and putative NF kappa B activating protein 413. It is a member of the NEDD4 family-interacting protein family and plays a role in various cellular processes, including the regulation of protein-protein interactions and ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation. Ndfip2 is known to interact with the WW domains of NEDD4 family members and may be involved in the regulation of their activity. Additionally, it has been suggested that Ndfip2 may activate MAPK and NF-kappa-B signaling pathways, although further research is needed to confirm this.
