Other names	Glutathione S-transferase subunit 13, also known as GST 13-13 or GSTK1-1, is an enzyme involved in the metabolism of glutathione. It belongs to the GST class kappa and is a homolog of Glutathione S-transferase subunit 13. The human version of this enzyme is encoded by the GSTK1 gene. Its function is to catalyze the addition of glutathione to a variety of hydrophobic and electrophilic compounds, thereby detoxifying them and facilitating their elimination from the body. GST 13-13 plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular redox homeostasis and protecting against oxidative stress. In addition to its role in detoxification, this enzyme is also involved in the modulation of cellular signaling pathways and has been associated with various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.
