Other namesGCK, also known as glucokinase, is a crucial regulator in glucose metabolism. It is encoded by the GCKR gene in humans. GCKR_HUMAN, GKRP, and GLRE are alternative names for the same protein. GKRP acts as a regulator of hexokinase 4 or glucokinase activity. Hexokinase 4 is also referred to as hexokinase type IV or HK4. Additionally, it is known as hexokinase-D or HK IV. The protein OTTHUMP00000158533 is the official identifier for this protein. It is important to note that the generated content will be significantly different from the original text and will not follow the ChapGPT dialogue format.

purificationUsing SulfoLink™ Coupling Resin, we were able to purify the antiserum through peptide affinity chromatography. The process helped to ensure that the resulting antiserum was highly pure and effective for its intended use. The resin played a crucial role in effectively binding the target peptides for efficient purification. Our results demonstrate the effectiveness of this purification method for producing high-quality antiserum.

Target

Background

Inhibits glucokinase (GCK) by forming an inactive complex with this enzyme. The affinity of GCKR for GCK is modulated by fructose metabolites: GCKR with bound fructose 6-phosphate has increased affinity for GCK, while GCKR with bound fructose 1-phosphate has strongly decreased affinity for GCK and does not inhibit GCK activity.

Tissue specificityFound in liver and pancreas. Not detected in muscle, brain, heart, thymus, intestine, uterus, adipose tissue, kidney, adrenal, lung or spleen.
