Other names	CBF beta, also known as CBF-beta or CBFB, is a subunit of the core binding factor complex. It is also referred to as PEA2, PEBP2 beta, or Polyomavirus enhancer-binding protein 2 beta subunit. This protein plays a vital role in gene regulation by binding to DNA sequences and regulating the transcription process. SL3-3 enhancer factor 1 subunit beta and SL3/AKV core binding factor beta subunit are other aliases for CBF beta. Its function is critical in the differentiation and development of different organs and tissues. CBF beta defects have been linked to various types of cancers, including acute myeloid leukemia, and are a target for cancer therapy.
