Other names	Protein 14-3-3 alpha or 14-3-3 protein beta/alpha, also known as 1433B_HUMAN, is an important brain protein. It is encoded by the GW128 gene and is involved in various cellular processes. Another name for this protein is brain protein 14-3-3 beta isoform. It is also referred to as KCIP-1 or KCIP1, which stands for protein kinase C inhibitor protein 1. The protein undergoes N-terminal processing and is known by the name YWHAA or YWHAB. These different names reflect the various aspects and functions of this protein.
