Description

As a heterodimer, it forms a binding with the E-box consensus sequence 5'-CANNTG-3' and effectively hinders the transcriptional activation induced by MYOD1, MYOG, MEF2A, and MEF2C. Furthermore, it acts as a suppressor for the expression of proinflammatory cytokines like TNFA and IL1B. Its involvement in postnatal glycogen storage and energy metabolism signifies its role in the regulation of these processes. Moreover, it prevents the premature or abnormal differentiation of preosteoblast cells during the formation of bone tissue, possibly by modifying the internal cellular response of osteoblasts to external growth factors.
