Other namesThe human protein timeless has been extensively studied and is also known as FLJ12640, FLJ20714, hTIM, or TIM. It plays a vital role in regulating the circadian clock, as it is a homolog of the timeless protein found in other organisms. Additionally, it has also been linked to DNA damage response pathways and other important cellular processes. Overall, this protein is a crucial player in maintaining normal cellular function and is an area of active research in the scientific community. Another name for this protein is TIM1 and it is also referred to as TIMELESS1 or Tof1 homolog.
SourceRabbit
SpecificityThe endogenous levels of total TIMELESS can be detected using TIMELESS Antibody. This antibody is designed to specifically target and bind to the protein, allowing for the accurate detection of its presence. The results obtained from using this antibody can provide valuable information about the protein and its role in various biological processes. Overall, the TIMELESS Antibody is an important tool for researchers studying this protein and its functions.

Target

Background

Plays an important role in the control of DNA replication, maintenance of replication fork stability, maintenance of genome stability throughout normal DNA replication and in the regulation of the circadian clock. Involved in the determination of period length and in the DNA damage-dependent phase advancing of the circadian clock. Negatively regulates CLOCK|NPAS2-ARTNL/BMAL1|ARTNL2/BMAL2-induced transactivation of PER1 possibly via translocation of PER1 into the nucleus. Forms a complex with TIPIN and this complex regulates DNA replication processes under both normal and stress conditions, stabilizes replication forks and influences both CHEK1 phosphorylation and the intra-S phase checkpoint in response to genotoxic stress. Timeless promotes TIPIN nuclear localization. Involved in cell survival after DNA damage or replication stress. May be specifically required for the ATR-CHEK1 pathway in the replication checkpoint induced by hydroxyurea or ultraviolet light. May also play an important role in epithelial cell morphogenesis and formation of branching tubules.

Tissue specificityExpressed in all tissues examined including brain, heart, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, placenta, pancreas, spleen, thymus and testis. Highest levels of expression in placenta, pancreas, thymus and testis.
