Description

Chromosome 10q24.1 is the location of the gene that encodes Tect3 (tectonic-3), also known as TCTN3. Tect3 is a single-pass type I membrane protein consisting of 607 amino acids. It belongs to the tectonic protein family and has four alternatively spliced isoforms. Tect3 plays a role in apoptosis regulation and interacts with MKS1. The gene responsible for Tect3 spans approximately 31,560 bases.
Human chromosome 10 (10q24.1) is quite significant, encompassing nearly 135 million base pairs and housing around 1,200 genes. It accounts for approximately 4.5% of the entire human genome. Chromosome 10 contains various protein-coding genes, including those responsible for chemokines, cadherins, excision repair proteins, early growth response factors (Egrs), and fibroblast growth receptors (FGFRs).
Numerous genetic disorders are associated with genes on chromosome 10. These include Charcot-Marie Tooth disease, Jackson-Weiss syndrome, Usher syndrome, nonsyndromatic deafness, Wolman's syndrome, Cowden syndrome, Cockayne syndrome, multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2, and porphyria. Additionally, chromosome 10 is linked to tetrahydrobiopterin deficiency and several syndromes characterized by defects in skull and facial bone fusion.

Other namesC10orf61 is also known as Chromosome 10 open reading frame 61. It is sometimes referred to as DKFZP564D116 or JBTS18. Other names for this gene include OFD4, TCTN3, and TECT3. The corresponding protein is called TECT3 or Tectonic 3. It is important to note that TECT3 exists in a precursor form before it is fully processed. This gene belongs to the Tectonic family, specifically Tectonic-3.

SpecificityThe TCTN3 Antibody is capable of measuring the total amount of TCTN3 present within cells. It is highly sensitive and able to accurately detect endogenous levels of this protein. By using this antibody, researchers will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the role that TCTN3 plays in various cellular processes.

Predictive reaction speciesBovine
AntigenTCTN3
ApplicationThe dilution ratios for Western Blot (WB) range from 1:500 to 1:2000, for Immunohistochemistry (IHC) range from 1:50 to 1:200, and for ELISA with peptide range from 1:20000 to 1:40000. These dilution ratios indicate the amount of sample to be mixed with the assay reagents for optimal results. It is important to follow these instructions carefully to ensure accurate and reliable experimental outcomes. By adjusting the dilution ratios within the specified ranges, researchers can fine-tune the sensitivity and specificity of the assays to meet their specific experimental needs.
