| Other names | Lung cells, both cancerous and non-cancerous, exhibit differential expression of a protein known as DIL-1 or Differentially Expressed in Cancerous and Non-cancerous Lung Cells 1. This protein is also referred to as DIL1, DKFZp686G21139, FLJ16313, FLJ22401, FLJ34460, M spondin, and Mindin. Its functions are not fully understood, but it is believed to be involved in the extracellular matrix as Spondin 2. Antibodies against this protein are available for research purposes. The identification of Spondin 2 and its differential expression in cancerous and non-cancerous lung cells may hold potential for understanding lung cancer progression and developing targeted therapies. |
| Source | Rabbit |
| Specificity | The total SPON2 present in the body can be detected using the SPON2 Antibody. |
| Species Reactivity | Human;Mouse;Rat |
| Antigen | SPON2 |
| Application | For Western blotting, a recommended dilution range of 1:500 to 1:1000 can be used. When performing immunofluorescence or immunocytochemistry, a dilution range of 1:100 to 1:500 is recommended. For ELISA using peptide antigens, a dilution range of 1:20000 to 1:40000 is recommended. Please note that these dilution ranges may need to be adjusted based on the specific experiment and antibody being used. |

| Stability & Storage | To preserve the quality of the product, it is important to keep it at -20°C and avoid subjecting it to repetitive cycles of freezing and thawing. This storage method is recommended for a duration of one year. |
| Storage buffer | The rabbit IgG contained in this product is suspended in a solution of phosphate buffered saline with a pH value of 7.4, 150 millimolar concentration of sodium chloride, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. It is recommended to store the product at -20°C for optimal stability, and it can be used for up to 12 months from the time of receipt. |
Target | |
Background | Cell adhesion protein that promotes adhesion and outgrowth of hippocampal embryonic neurons. Binds directly to bacteria and their components and functions as an opsonin for macrophage phagocytosis of bacteria. Essential in the initiation of the innate immune response and represents a unique pattern-recognition molecule in the ECM for microbial pathogens (By similarity). Binds bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). |
| Tissue specificity | Expressed in normal lung tissue but not in lung carcinoma cell lines. |
| Celluar localization | Extracellular region or secreted; |
| UniPort | Q9BUD6 |
