Other names	The protein encoded by KIAA0938 is also known as Neuron navigator 3 or NAV3. It is a pore membrane and/or filament-interacting-like protein 1 and is also referred to as Steerin 3 or Unc 53 homolog 3. The human version of NAV3 is called NAV3_HUMAN. Another name for this protein is Steerin-3. As the name suggests, it plays an important role in neuron navigation. This protein is highly similar to the Unc-53 homolog 3 and is involved in neuronal development and growth. Its function is crucial for proper neural circuit formation and maintenance.
