The five major cell types expressing isoform 2 include endothelial cells found mainly in small vessels or capillaries, macrophages, skeletal muscle cells, myoepithelial cells primarily in the prostate, and epithelial cells primarily in various tissues such as skin, buccal mucosa, tongue, nasal mucosa, lung, ureter, breast, fallopian tube, and adrenal gland. Specifically, isoform 2 was only detected in lung tissue.
