IL-12R beta 2 is a subunit of the IL-12 receptor complex, along with IL-12R beta 1, and is involved in the activation of T cells and natural killer cells. It is also essential for the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), a key cytokine involved in the host defense against infections and tumor surveillance.
