It is also known as FGFR substrate 3, FRS2-beta, or FRS2B, and previously referred to as MGC17167. SNT2 plays a crucial role in mediating FGFR-activated Ras/MAPK and PI3K/Akt signaling pathways, as well as other downstream cellular responses such as cell differentiation, proliferation, and survival. As a component of the FGFR signalling complex, SNT2 facilitates the recruitment and phosphorylation of downstream signalling molecules, promoting the transmission of specific signals from the extracellular environment to the cell interior. Dysregulation or dysfunction of SNT2 and related FGFR signalling components has been implicated in various diseases including cancer, developmental disorders, and neurological disorders. Therefore, a better understanding of SNT2 function and regulation may contribute to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for these diseases.
