The LAL method has determined that the Recombinant Human TIMP-2 contains less than 1 EU/μg. This information can be rearranged to say that the amount of Recombinant Human TIMP-2 present is highly similar to that which was originally tested, and it falls below the threshold of 1 EU/μg as determined by the LAL method.

Activity

The standard and the sample are equally biologically active. The sample was tested for its ability to inhibit human MMP-2 cleavage of a fluorogenic peptide substrate Mca-PLGL-Dpa-AR-NH2, and demonstrated comparable results to the standard.

Reconstitution

To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended to briefly centrifuge the vial before opening, in order to bring the contents to the bottom. For reconstitution, use sterile distilled water or an aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to obtain a final concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. The stock solutions should be divided into working aliquots and stored at -20°C or lower. Dilutions can be made in appropriate buffered solutions. It is crucial to follow these guidelines to ensure the stability and quality of the product.

Stability & Storage

The lyophilized preparation can be stored between 2-8 °C, but for long term storage, it is recommended to keep it at -20 °C, preferably in a dry condition. Once reconstituted, the preparation remains stable for up to one week at 2-8 °C. To ensure maximum stability, it is advised to divide the reconstituted preparation into smaller working aliquots and store them at temperatures ranging from -20 °C to -70 °C.
