The LAL method detected less than 1 EU/μg of rViMIP-2, indicating extremely low levels of endotoxin.

Activity

Compared to the standard, the viral MIP-2 is fully biologically active. Its specific activity is determined by the ability to inhibit monocyte migration response to human MIP-1 alpha. By using a concentration range of 1.0µg-10.0µg/ml, viral MIP-2 can inhibit 25ng/ml of human MIP-1 alpha effectively. This clearly indicates the high potency of viral MIP-2 in modulating immune response.

Reconstitution

To ensure optimal performance, we advise a brief centrifugation of the vial prior to opening, in order to settle the contents at the bottom. To reconstitute, use either sterile distilled water or an aqueous buffer containing 0.1 % BSA, aiming for a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Once reconstituted, stock solutions should be divided into separate working aliquots and then stored at temperatures of ≤ -20 °C. Further dilution must then be performed using appropriate buffered solutions.

Stability & Storage

The lyophilized preparation can be stored at 2-8 °C with stability. However, for long-term storage, it is recommended to keep it at -20 °C, preferably in a desiccated condition. When reconstituted, the preparation remains stable for one week at 2-8 °C. To ensure maximum stability, it is recommended to divide the reconstituted preparation into smaller working aliquots and store them at temperatures ranging from -20 °C to -70 °C. It is important to avoid subjecting the preparation to repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
