Description | Intact whole IgG antibodies can be isolated from antisera through immunoaffinity chromatography. These molecules possess two Fab portions that are connected by disulfide bonds and an Fc portion, rendering them divalent. The average molecular weight of these molecules is approximately 160 kDa. Due to their cost-effectiveness and compatibility with most immunodetection procedures, whole IgG forms of antibodies are commonly used. The antibody has shown reactivity with intact mouse IgG molecules through immunoelectrophoresis and/or ELISA. It also exhibits binding to the light chains of various mouse immunoglobulins. Notably, no interaction was observed with non-immunoglobulin serum proteins. There is a possibility that this antibody might cross-react with immunoglobulins derived from other species. |
