Description

Antibodies that are isolated as intact molecules from antisera through immunoaffinity chromatography are referred to as whole IgG antibodies. These antibodies are composed of two antigen binding Fab portions and an Fc portion joined together by disulfide bonds, and are therefore considered to be divalent. They have an average molecular weight of approximately 160 kDa. Whole IgG antibodies are the most cost-effective and suitable for the majority of immunodetection procedures.

Through immunoelectrophoresis and ELISA analyses, the antibody exhibits reactivity towards goat IgG as a whole molecule and the light chains of other goat immunoglobulins. Conversely, it does not exhibit any detected antibody response against non-immunoglobulin serum proteins. Further ELISA testing and solid-phase adsorption have been conducted to reduce any potential cross-reaction with chicken, guinea pig, Syrian hamster, horse, human, mouse, rabbit, and rat serum proteins. However, there may still be some cross-reaction with immunoglobulins derived from other species.
