It is also known as Left-Right Determination Factor A (LEFTA) or Left-Right Determination Factor 2 (LEFTY2). This protein, encoded by the LEFTY2 gene, plays a crucial role in left-right axis determination during embryonic development. EBAF, or LEFTY2, is involved in regulating cell differentiation and tissue development in various organs, including the endometrium. Its dysregulation has been associated with abnormal endometrial bleeding and other reproductive disorders. The protein LEFTY2, also referred to as Protein Lefty A or Protein Lefty-2, is a homolog of the mouse LFTY2 protein. It functions as a potent inhibitor of the transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) signaling pathway. Research has shown that TGFB4, or Transforming Growth Factor Beta 4, is the official name of the protein encoded by the TGFB4 gene.
