Other names	The protein known as 55 kDa actin bundling protein, or Fascin 1, plays a significant role in the bundling of actin filaments. It is also referred to as FAN 1 or FSCN 1. In sea urchins, this protein is a homolog of Fascin and is involved in actin bundling. Additionally, it is sometimes called Singed like (sea urchin fascin homolog like) or Singed drosophila homolog like. It is encoded by the FSCN1 gene and is also known as p55 or HSN. While its specific functions may vary across different organisms, this protein is essential for actin organization and cellular movements.
