Description

To obtain whole IgG antibodies from antisera, immunoaffinity chromatography is employed to isolate intact molecules. These antibodies possess two identical antigen binding Fab portions and an Fc portion that is linked to them by disulfide bonds, rendering them divalent. Additionally, the average molecular weight of these antibodies is approximately 160 kDa. The whole IgG form of antibodies is particularly suitable for a variety of immunodetection techniques and is cost-effective.
The antibody exhibited reactivity towards guinea pig IgG as observed through immunoelectrophoresis and/or ELISA. Additionally, it displayed binding affinity towards the light chains of various guinea pig immunoglobulins. Notably, no reactivity against non-immunoglobulin serum proteins was observed. To minimize cross-reactivity, the antibody underwent rigorous testing through ELISA and solid-phase adsorption against serum proteins from bovine, chicken, goat, Syrian hamster, horse, human, mouse, rabbit, rat, and sheep. However, there is a possibility of cross-reactivity with immunoglobulins derived from other species.
