To obtain whole IgG antibodies from antisera, immunoaffinity chromatography is employed to isolate intact molecules. These antibodies possess two identical antigen binding Fab portions and an Fc portion that is linked to them by disulfide bonds, rendering them divalent. Additionally, the average molecular weight of these antibodies is approximately 160 kDa. The whole IgG form of antibodies is particularly suitable for a variety of immunodetection techniques and is cost-effective.
