It belongs to the Sema domain immunoglobulin domain (Ig) and GPI membrane anchor 7A family of proteins. H Sema K1 and H Sema L are alternative names for this protein. The John Milton Hagen blood group antigen is encoded by the MGC126692 and MGC126696 genes. It is a GPI-anchored semaphorin protein with functions in various biological processes. Known for its role in cell adhesion and migration, SEMA7A plays a vital role in the immune system and is associated with certain blood group antigens.
