Description | The Olfactomedin group of secreted glycoproteins is a varied family that includes Noelin-1, Noelin-2, Noelin-3, Noelin-4, tiarin, pancortin, gliomedin and mycocilin. These proteins play a crucial role in the development of the nervous system. In particular, they are expressed in the neural plate and neural crest in mice around E8-10, as well as in cranial ganglia, brain tissue, and the zone of polarizing activity in the limb. Interestingly, excess of neural crest emigrations and prolonged neural crest production have been observed due to an overexpression of OLFM1. Furthermore, OLFM2 has been shown to regulate the development of the anterior nervous system, and a mutation in it has been implicated as a possible cause for open-angle glaucoma. |
| Other names | NEUROBLASTOMA PROTEIN (AMY) is a crucial factor in the regulation of neuroblastoma, functioning as a neuronal olfactomedin-related ER localized protein. It is also known as Noe1, NOE1_HUMAN, Noel, Noel1, Noelin, Noelin1, OlfA, Olfactomedin 1, Olfactomedin-1, Olfm1, Pancortin 1, and Pancortin. This protein plays a significant role in various cellular processes and has garnered attention in research related to neuroblastoma and neuronal development. Its localization in the endoplasmic reticulum further highlights its importance in the neuronal environment. |

| Application | The recommended dilution ratios for WB are between 1:500 and 1:2000, for IHC they are between 1:50 to 1:200, and for ELISA using peptide they range from 1:20000 to 1:40000. It is important to adhere to these dilution ranges in order to obtain reliable and accurate results. By employing these standard protocols, you can ensure that your experiments will yield valid and reproducible data that can be used for further analysis and interpretation. Whether you are working with Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry, or ELISA techniques, following these guidelines will help you achieve optimal outcomes and obtain the most robust data possible. |

Background | Contributes to the regulation of axonal growth in the embryonic and adult central nervous system by inhibiting interactions between RTN4R and LINGO1. Inhibits RTN4R-mediated axon growth cone collapse (By similarity). May play an important role in regulating the production of neural crest cells by the neural tube (By similarity). May be required for normal responses to olfactory stimuli (By similarity). |
