Other names	The autoantigen p62, also known as IGF2 mRNA-binding protein 2 or IMP-2, is a VICKZ family member 2 that plays a crucial role in hepatocellular carcinoma. This protein is involved in the regulation of insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2) mRNA stability and translation, which in turn plays a role in cellular growth and proliferation. The interaction between p62 and IGF2 mRNA is highly specific and regulated by various factors. The importance of p62 in hepatocellular carcinoma is underscored by its association with increased tumor growth and poor prognosis.
